Cindy Smith Director of National Events smith@sportkc.org  Cindy joined the Kansas City Sports Commission in January 2000. She is a Kansas City native and received an Education degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a Masters degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.Cindy's sports career began as a teacher and coach at Shawnee Mission South High School. She left Shawnee Mission South to take a position as the first national director of women's programs for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In 1981, Smith left the FCA and was hired by the NCAA as an Assistant Director of Championships. In 1986, Cindy left the NCAA to move to California and work as a mortgage broker in the San Francisco area until 1995. She returned to Kansas City and was rehired by the NCAA.  Back to Top |
