Marla joined the Kansas City Sports Commission in March 2007. Her main responsibility is to make sure the house runs smoothly. She also oversees the internship program and helps with events. Before joining the Sports Commission Team, Marla spent nine years at All About Travel where she provided creative support for the Meetings & Incentive Department, Group Department and Corporate Client Relations. She has also worked for USTA/Missouri Valley Tennis Association as the Director of Marketing. Marla grew up on a farm in Webster City, Iowa and graduated from Grand View College with a journalism degree. Away from the office Marla likes to travel, attend Broadway plays, watch the Tour de France and run. Marla is a breast cancer survivor and volunteer for the Touched By Cancer Foundation and Livestrong Foundation. Marla, husband, Scott and daughter Janine reside in Kansas City, MO, north of the river.
