Jay Wilson joins the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation after spending three years working in the non-profit sector as an Executive Director and Development Officer. Jay is an avid sports fan who enjoys the challenges and tasks associated with bringing high level events and supporters to the Kansas City area. Jay’s area of focus in Development is the general membership as well as working to bring private and corporate donors into the overall support structure of the Commission.
Before joining the Sports Commission Team, Jay spent time in the US Military, serving one tour in Operation Enduring Freedom, and also worked for the Missouri State Senate in Jefferson City, MO and served as an intern for the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC.
A native of Sedalia, MO, Jay graduated from Smith-Cotton H.S. in 1998, and received his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Central Missouri in 2002. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Public Affairs at Park University, and enjoys attending sporting events, reading, outdoor activities and involvements with local and civic affairs.
Jay and his wife, Alicia Kay Wilson, reside in Gladstone, MO.
